Letter to Lady Dufferin : from Rudyard Kipling, 1892 November 9.

Manuscript letter from Kipling to Lady Dufferin, replying to her request to use some verses from his book The Naulahka in an article she was writing. Kipling includes in his letter the last three stanzas of his poem "For the Women," with some differences in wording from the text of the poem as later published in Early verse (New York, 1900). Kipling also asks for Lord Dufferin's help in securing a retirement pension for his father, who was in ill health. The letter ([2] leaves) is bound in blue morocco bordered in gold, with the initials D&A stamped on the covers in gilt.
